This reference is bundled with the R68 engine and may retain earlier UI terminology. Use the current R68 installation/security guides for the new wizard and activation steps. Its procedures apply to MSP; use the separate Free or Professional guide for those editions.

Supported host

Run the toolkit on a managed Windows administrative workstation or server under the authorized audit operator account. Windows PowerShell 5.1 remains supported; PowerShell 7 is preferred where modern modules require it.

Prerequisites

First run

  1. Install the MSI.
  2. Accept the disclaimer.
  3. Open Settings and choose an EFS-capable Evidence Root.
  4. Use Repair All Prerequisites if required.
  5. Configure one collector and run it before Full.
Do not place the evidence root on a filesystem that cannot provide the protection expected by your organization. Credential/session artifacts use DPAPI and EFS and are not intended for sharing between Windows users.
