R66 Secure Communication activation and client updates
Server Administration now declares Per-Monitor V2 DPI awareness and uses pixel-aligned ClearType rendering so its text and visual assets stay sharp when moved between displays or used with Windows scaling.
Turning Secure Communication on
Open Configuration > Security & Experience, choose Standard, Enhanced, High Assurance or DoD-Aligned, then select Turn Secure Communication ON & Verify. If OFF is still selected, the action uses Enhanced. The client saves its selected profile, provisions the same server profile, waits for any required server restart, runs DNS/TCP/TLS/API/security diagnostics and displays ON only when the server reports encrypted transport and the effective profile.
Turning Secure Communication off requires an explicit confirmation and applies OFF to both client and server.
Server-hosted updates
Server Administration includes Client Updates. An administrator selects a platform package, enters its four-part file version and publishes it. The server copies the package into its protected application data, records its SHA-256 and exposes authenticated catalog/download endpoints.
Update-aware Windows clients compare their installed file version with the published Windows version. A newer version produces an optional update prompt. The downloaded package must match the server-recorded byte count and SHA-256 before it is offered to the user.
Compatible older API 8 clients continue to use the upgraded server. Clients created before this update feature cannot display the new prompt because that user interface does not exist in those binaries; R66 establishes update notifications for R66 and later releases.
The catalog supports a future macOS package, but R66 contains no macOS client. A macOS client is not included in that release.
